FIRE STATIONS
Douglas County, Nevada

Site Development plans were prepared to determine the best location on the property to site the fire station to meet the Volunteer Fire Department needs, keep the existing station operable until completion of the new station, provide for a septic system, yet still allow for a future training facility and recreation department facility. Careful consideration was given to traffic flow to ensure that conflicts did not occur between emergency vehicles and private vehicles or pedestrians.
The Site Master Plan for the training facility consisted of a burn building, smoke residence, drafting pit, portable drafting pit (tank), pumping station, hydrant, tender, water fight practice area, staging area and apparatus maneuvering area for loading dock, offset alleys, diminishing clearance and serpentine drills.
