This new fire station was constructed on a two acre parcel in a location central in the Cold Springs Community. The project included an engine company, accommodations for fire personnel, training facilities and data services relay station. This is the second station of this design as a site adapt planned throughout Washoe County.
The design was presented to the Cold Springs Citizens Advisory Board for review and approval. The single fire station is designed to accommodate a future engine company and a third apparatus room bay. The north exterior wall of the Apparatus Room was designed to allow for a 12' knockout section to provide access to the future Apparatus Bay. Plumbing is stubbed-out to accommodate additional bathrooms should the second engine company become necessary.
The exterior concrete masonry block has a slight purple color to match the tones of the surrounding hills.
