The South Tahoe Public Utility District (STPUD) commissioned Smith Design Group to provide programming, design, and construction administration for the renovation of and addition to their Administration Building located adjacent to the sewage treatment plant at South Lake Tahoe.
Dale E. Smith, the Project Architect, suggested constructing two independent structures to isolate the Essential Services Facility construction reducing construction costs. The structures are connected with a breezeway between the main entrance doors. The breezeway and building placement creates a courtyard adjacent to the Board meeting room and staff lounge for outdoor use.
